Built From Kensington in Kensington
This table-top was built from row-haus roof planks salvaged during the great gentrification of Kensington circa 2014. These particular planks are fairly dear to me as they were once the roof of my haus which was replaced last year when restoring my home. The boards, baked under layers of asphalt since 1875, have taken on a color and patina that can only come from such a hard life. We patched and stitched the cracks, checks, holes and knots that couldnt be lived with and polished it up for at least another hundred years of use. The shop made tapered steel legs sit on levelers and are morticed into the aprons and secured with salvage brass bolts.
*Table is a showroom sample. Some use is visable (but barely)
