Dasian modern STUMP
I made this side table, a mash-up of Scandanavian and Asian styles, for the Black Celebration show. The top, once a Kensington street tree of unknown species, sat drying in my shop for over 3 years before i deciced to burn it. The practice of Shou-sugi ban, or charring, is a Japanese method for preserving and protecting wood. The 3 legged base i built from lathe turned spindles with oxdized "boots".
